Rainbow Six Siege's North American League 2020 just concluded its fifth week and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. The North American League had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. The Coastline and Villa maps were home to some really impressive matches between Disrupt Gaming and Soniqs as well as between SSG and OXG.
The matchup between SSG and OXG was the most anticipated match of the week. The first map was played on Coastline, which went really close for both teams. Ultimately, SSG managed to take the first map with a very close score, winning the map 8-7. Nathanial "Rampy" Duvall and Alec “Fultz” Fultz carried their team with 18 kills and 15 kills respectively. SSG have been dominating the NA League and have been showing consistent performance no matter who they are up against. The second map was played out on Villa, but SSG read through OXG’s strat and beat them 7-5. SSG used the shield meta by bringing in operators such as Goyo and Wamai.
Another decent match to watch was between Soniqs and Disrupt. While both teams haven’t been looking great in the league, Soniqs were able to beat Disrupt 2-0 on Villa and Coastline. While the matches didn’t show anything new, Soniqs seem to be improving at a decent rate. The first map was played out on Villa and went 7-3 in the favor of Soniqs. The second map took place on Coastline, which is a frag heavy map. Soniqs played super aggressively and won the game 7-4.
The top two teams of each division will qualify for the major, which will take place after the qualifiers on July 24. SSG will be taking the first seed in bracket A, while Soniqs will take the other spot in bracket B.
