Earlier this week, we learned ReCore will be making its way to PC alongside the Xbox One, drastically increasing the potential audience for the upcoming adventure game from Comcept and Armature Studio. But it seems we’ll be waiting a bit longer than originally expected for the ReCore release date.

On Monday, Microsoft made waves with the surprise (and surprisingly quiet) announcement that ReCore would be available on PC (in addition to Xbox One) before the end of 2016. The new information appeared courtesy of a new update from Xbox’s corporate vice president of marketing, in a list of major Xbox releases planned for the 2016 fiscal year. The news was more than a little exciting for those of us uninterested in buying an Xbox One solely for the upcoming project from Comcept and Armature Studio. But anyone getting hyped at the prospect of playing ReCore on their gaming PC this spring will need to put that excitement on ice for a few months.

After noticing a discrepancy between Microsoft’s latest schedule, and the original Spring 2016 timeline offered for ReCore’s debut, Engadget reached out to the Big M for a bit of clarification. And, to the disappointment of gamers everywhere, the console manufacturer confirmed the ReCore release date has officially been pushed back several months. There’s currently no firm timeline for the project’s debut; however, Microsoft tells Engadget that we can expect to see ReCore in “the latter half of 2016.”

Sadly, this week’s announcements didn’t include any new ReCore gameplay footage for the general public. So anyone hoping to get another look at the upcoming adventure game will need to revisit the ReCore announcement trailer, first revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2015 press conference.

ReCore is being developed for PC and Xbox One. The game is currently scheduled to debut sometime in the second half of 2016.
