The new year is here and that means new opportunities for those in the frontier. Red Dead Online is offering role bonuses this January as a good way to start 2023.
With the seasonal weather here and celebratory gatherings in full swing, there's no question that booze and blankets are hot commodities at this time of the year. Even better, Traders and Moonshiners earn double rewards until January 30 for all successful sales.
Meanwhile, for January, Collectors and Naturalists get 3X RDO$ and XP on these Free Roam events:
- Condor Egg
- Salvage
- Legendary Animal Tagging
- Protect Legendary Animal
Extra Rewards
For this month, those looking for more extra rewards can try and see if they have what it takes to grab the Il Sovrano Diamond. It's not going to be easy since even some of the most skilled crooks that tried have failed. Those able to succeed receive a bunch of rewards including 2X RDO$, gold and XP.
Players looking to administer justice can do some cleaning and take out miscreants making trouble in towns. There's 4X XP available to those who take out Gang Hideouts.
Weekly Role Bonuses
For January, here are the Weekly Role Bonuses that players can look forward to:
- January 3 to January 9
- Players who have maxed out their Naturalist Role Rank or gain 5 Naturalist Role Levels, receive a 50% off an Established or Distinguished Naturalist Role Item.
- Sample a Legendary Animal to get the black and white version of the Sobol Hat.
- Naturalists looking to get into the Collector Role can finish the Wildlife Photography Free Roam Event and receive 5 Gold Bars off the Collector’s Bag.
- January 10 to January 16
- Players who have maxed out their Collector Role Rank or gain 5 Collector Role Levels receive a 40% off an Established or Distinguished Collector Role Item.
- Collectors who return a complete Weekly Collection to Madam Nazar can get the black and brown version of the Fernwater Coat.
- Collectors interested in becoming a Trader can finish the Salvage Collector Free Roam Event to receive 5 Gold Bars off the Butcher’s Table.
- January 17 to January 23
- Players who have maxed out their Trader Role Rank or who gain 5 Trader Role Levels receive a 40% off an Established or Distinguished Trader Role Item.
- Complete a Trader Sale to obtain 25 free Trader Goods.
- Those who can finish the Trade Route Free Roam Event receive 5 Gold Bars off the Moonshine Shack.
- January 24 to January 30
- Players who have maxed out their Moonshiner Role Rank or who gain 5 Moonshiner Role Levels receive a 40% off an Established or Distinguished Moonshiner Role Item.
- Destroy 3 Revenue Agent Blockades and obtain the blue McCrum Pants.
- Complete 2 Free Roam during this week to receive 5 Gold Bars off the Bounty Hunter License.
- Month Long Incentives: January 3 to January 30

- Complete any Clearing House Crime to obtain the Inglett Scarf in blue.
