My Arcade announced that it has entered into a partnership with Capcom to create a collectible Street Fighter II: Champion Edition Micro Player. The company also revealed its next generation of consoles with the Super Retro Champ. Both of these products should be launched later in the year.
Micro Player
The Street Fighter II: Champion Edition Micro Player is like a miniature arcade cabinet, and is expected to be priced at $49.99, This officially-licensed cabinet comes packed with My Arcade's very own CO-VS technology, which allows players to connect two Micro Players together for intense head-to-head competition.
the Street Fighter II cabinet is seven inches tall and has a 3.5-inch screen. This Micro Player is a 1/10th scale replica of the original 1992 arcade cabinet. It has unique button/joystick switches along with a widened control panel in order to accommodate the traditional six-button layout of the original. In addition, the packaging and cabinet showcases artwork inspired by the original arcade cabinet, as what one would expect for the Micro Player line.
Super Retro Champ Console
Priced at $109.99, the Super Retro Champ console serves as the successor to the company's award-winning Retro Champ. With this, retro gaming enthusiasts should be able to enjoy their SNES, Super Famicom, and even Genesis/Mega Drive cartridges, with one single console.
The Super Retro Champ has a seven-inch screen that comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that offers as much as five hours of play time. Retro gamers have the option to play the Super Retro Champ either in handheld mode or use the two included wireless gamepads to play in tabletop and TV mode. Like its predecessor, the Super Retro Champ also has a built-in cartridge cleaning kit.
