It's only been three days since Resident Evil Village launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but the game has managed to become one of the top sellers on Steam. After the warm reception of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, fans had high expectations from Resident Evil Village, and it seems from the reviews on Steam that the game did not disappoint awaiting fans.
Surprisingly, the game also witnessed over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. This is the first time that a Resident Evil game has seen such a concurrent player count. According to SteamDB, the game managed an all-time peak of 106,631 players, which is significantly higher than the franchise's second best-selling Resident Evil 2: Remake. The remake had an all-time peak of 74,227 players.
In addition to being a best seller and breaking concurrent player count records, the game is also boasting huge numbers on Twitch. As per SullyGnome, the total Twitch viewers for Resident Evil Village peaked at 645,130.
Moreover, the game is among the most played games on Steam right now, surpassing even competitive titles like Rainbow Six Siege.
The new RE game isn't just performing exemplary on PC. Resident Evil Village is a best-seller as well on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Resident Evil Village is set three years after the events in Resident Evil VII: Biohazard. Once again, players jump in the shoes of Ethan Winters, who now ventures out into a scary village searching for his daughter, Rosemary.
There are tons of questions left answered in the previous game and players are expecting to get answers in Resident Evil Village. One of the main highlights of the game is Lady Dimitrescu, a tall terrifying vampire woman in the game, and she is after Ethan Winters.
