In case you're dealing with crashing issues in Apex Legends on the all-new Nvidia RTX 3080 graphics card, you're not alone. Hundreds of players also reported similar issues with the same GPU. And now, the developer Respawn Entertainment has a response.
There's no doubt that for $700, the RTX 3080 is one hell of a graphics card capable of running most modern titles at 4K resolution with high frame rates. However, none of its power could work if the graphics card is incompatible with games. This is the current challenge that Nvidia is trying to address with the RTX 3080. Not to mention that the game already has several bugs that need fixing.
As of now, players reported that the game is constantly crashing with RTX 3080, preventing them from enjoying it. But players reported that playing the game in the firing range doesn't necessarily crash the game. Some players have even reported that the game crashes on the RTX 3070 as well.
Recently, a Respawn Entertainment developer named rspn_pav responded to the reports on Reddit. They ensured players that the dev team is aware of the issue and it is currently looking into it. The developer also asked players who own the RTX 30 series GPU. Those experiencing similar issues should report to Respawn with their system specifications.
One Redditor called Ragnarok64 mentioned a potential cause. They said that uninstalling the Nvidia Broadcast app helped improve the game's performance. The same method also reduced crashes. So, it seems that the issue could be related to the Nvidia drivers and not entirely on Respawn's end to fix.
