At long last, there’s a concrete timeline for the PC debut of Rise of the Tomb Raider. And those worried Square Enix wouldn’t be able to meet the January window mentioned on Steam can finally rest assured because the publisher just confirmed Rise of the Tomb Raider will hit PC before the end of the month.
The news comes courtesy of a new Square Enix press release, published on Tuesday morning, which confirms the publisher’s plan to release the Steam version of Rise of the Tomb Raider on January 28. Those who prefer Valve’s digital marketplace won’t be the only ones who get to experience the Tomb Raider sequel, either. The latest word from Square Enix also confirms Rise of the Tomb Raider will be compatible with Windows 10 and available for purchase from the Windows Store. Most importantly, for those with high-end gaming PCs, the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider will support 4K resolution.
According to today’s press release, Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available in three flavors, standard Collector’s Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition. The basic package will cost $59.99, like most new releases, and include a digital copy of the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds another $30 to the price tag, for a total of $89.99, but includes the Rise of the Tomb Raider Season Pass. Finally, the Collector’s Edition ($149.99) will include everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition along with 12-inch Lara Croft statue, jade necklace, a replica of Lara’s journal and a steel case.
