The Industrial Update for the online multiplayer survival game Rust is now available on PC. The main theme of this content patch is automation, with new things introduced to help players automate certain processes in the game.
One of the most important additions in terms of process automation is the Storage Adaptor. This thing is attachable to a storage entity so that it will become usable with different industrial systems introduced in this patch. The Storage Adaptor is compatible with the following:
- Tool Cupboard
- Large Wooden Box
- Small Wooden Box
- Small Furnace
- Large Furnace
- Refinery
- Electric Furnace
- Locker
- Fridge
- Drop box
- Vending Machine
The Conveyor is another thing worth mentioning. As its name suggests, the Conveyor is responsible for moving items from one storage entity to another. Although it moves any items it can find in storage, players can use a filter that prompts the Conveyor to only transfer those that meet specific conditions.
Players who want to craft items automatically will find joy in using the new Industrial Crafter. When attached to a workbench, the Industrial Crafter can be set up to automatically craft items once it's fed a blueprint and some materials required to make them.
The new stuff mentioned above needs to be linked using pipes and players will have to utilize the new Pipe Tool for that. This works similarly to the Wire or Hose tool, so any Rust player who has used any of them can feel right at home. Anyway, there are four different pipe colors to help players identify which pipe goes where. It is worth noting that the pipes’ anchor points have to be somewhat closer to each other. Moreover, they cannot go through Vending Machines and building blocks.
