Sea of Thieves recently added a new premium cosmetic item called the Sails of Union to help support the Stand Up To Cancer charity. These spectacular sails are available for a limited time, and all proceeds made from the sale will be going directly to the UK's Cancer Research fundraising campaign.
The Sails of Union have special characteristics, which is that they appear golden yellow with black graphics during the daytime. At night, however, the sails feature small golden-yellow glowing dots. The Sails of Union can be purchased for $5.99 from both Steam and the Microsoft Store. For every cosmetic bought on the Microsoft Store, 100% of the proceeds will be donated, and 75% of Steam proceeds will be donated to the campaign. The Sales of Union are available until November 6, so fans have a lot of time to upgrade their ship for a noble cause.
It is also important to note that the Sails of Union will be available in the Sea of Thieves Pirate Emporium in-game store. You'll still need to visit either the Microsoft Store or Steam to make the purchase. Once you purchase the new cosmetics from your respective storefronts, the item will be added to your shipwright's collection. You don't have to spend additional coin or belong to a particular faction to sport the sails.
Sea of Thieves also recently received a new content update that added a new Gold Hoarder quest and pet dogs that will accompany you on voyages. The Gold Hoarder quest involves players traveling to different islands and collecting map pieces. When players fully solve the puzzles, the location of a Vault key is revealed. After finding the Vault key, players will need to travel back to the Ancients Vault island and plunder the vault within three minutes.
The Sails of Union for Sea of Thieves are available until November 6 on PC and Xbox One.
