Developer Spike Chunsoft announced the official release window for the PC version of Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.
The game is set to arrive on Steam this winter and is very much like the previous games in the franchise. The series is filled with traditional roguelike titles where players traverse a randomized dungeon that has many floors.

You are tasked with diving even deeper into the dungeon using what resources you find throughout your adventures. The upcoming game will also have some nifty online features, including the ability to rescue or be rescued by other players if you find yourself collapsed.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island also makes some switch-ups to the setting. It introduces 3D graphics that some people have called rudimentary and also modernizes the UI in-game.
Other than these, the game should be deeply familiar to fans of the franchise who played other titles in the series. The previous game was Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune And The Dice Of Fate, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
That particular title launched on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2020 but was first playable in Japan in 2010 on the Nintendo DS. There was also a Western release for the game that came out in 2016.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island was released in January 2024 for the Nintendo Switch. This means that fans who are looking to get the PC version have a chance to dive into its world if they have a Switch and the budget to buy the game.
A PC Release Window
The developer said that when the game debuted in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, it was able to sell more than 200,000 copies. The numbers made the title the fastest-selling entry in the franchise, Eurogamer said.
The game's synopsis says that Shiren and Koppa receive a vision of a mysterious girl who is being held captive by a terrible monster. The duo then make their way to Serpentcoil Island which is rumored to be used as the lost stronghold of pirates who hoard treasure.
The base game that will be coming to Steam will include all free updates that were released on the title's Switch version. There is also a premium "Plus Pack" that will be released at launch and a digital original soundtrack. The latter includes 109 tracks that total more than 330 minutes, according to Gematsu.
