The Sims 4 has been slowly introducing fans to the Cats & Dogs expansion pack, and today’s promotion was the biggest yet: The Veterinarian Career. Running a Vet business is just like running a restaurant, except you can also be the doctor (unlike a restaurant where you cannot be a chef).
The latest trailer (view screenshots above) reveals the Pretty Paw Paw clinic, a huge establishment with a dozen staff members and all sorts of surgical equipment. One unfortunate kitty had three symptoms: mouth moths, uncontrollable drooling and stinky fur. She was diagnosed with “Mild Repugnitis” and the treatment was a parasite killer spray. This is surely one of many diseases Vets will encounter, but other symptoms include fleas, gilded guts disorder, advanced swamp mouth, glow nose and icy fur. The vet, of course, also does what the trailer called “preventive surgery, aka the ole snip snip.” Remember, if your pets run off the property and aren't spayed, there’s a chance they could come back pregnant.
In addition to the vet career, there are a number of new features to look forward to in The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs. Here’s our favorites so far.
Brindleton Bay
This new waterfront world may be the most beautiful yet in Sims 4. It features lots of trails to exercise with your pet and because of the large scope, there’s a nice view in every angle.
Racoons
Did you see that Cats v. Raccoons teaser trailer? That’s got to be only the beginning of cool raccoon gameplay. You can even create a racoon in Create-A-Pet. Crazy, right?
Interactions
Trailers show interactions with toddlers, children and teens that are just too precious. Taking care of pets also contributes to the responsibility skills. While we don’t know for sure yet, pets could certainly add to the emotional control. Who doesn’t want to curl up a puppy after a bad day at school? Pets can also chase mice in apartments and dogs can swim!
Create-A-Pet
You won’t know what to do with all the customization tools. You can even draw markings on your pet so it can look exactly the same as it does at home! There’s every breed imaginable, and the mixed breed tool allows for endless possibilities.
