The Sims 4 is inviting everyone to travel to a galaxy far, far away. Specifically, it’s deep into the Outer Rim and to the world of Batuu, with its three suns. This one has the Resistance and the First Order fighting it out. Then in the middle of it all are scoundrels that are trying to make the most of the chaos. The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack is set to be released on September 8.
Once the Sims arrive on Batuu, they’re going to immediately get the feel of Star Wars. There are the majestic trees and the sounds of ship engines passing through. Players also get to see some of the alien locals along with the busy droids. Some Sims may even see the iconic Millennium Falcon.
In Batuu, players are sure to feel the tension between the two main factions. There are Stormtroopers that patrol the streets looking for the Resistance. Meanwhile, the rebels are carrying out their secret plans from their hidden bunker. Then there are the smugglers that continue to operate, playing both sides to make a quick simoleon here and there. The question then is, which group is your Sim going to join?
Not to worry though, as you have the time to learn more about the different factions. Simply head on over to Oga’s Cantina and talk to the droid DJ R–3X. The initial missions are going to be simple, like having your Sim search through supply crates or confirm rumors about the presence of the Resistance.
Completing missions results in your Sims collecting rewards along with reputation points with the associated faction. Your Sims can go through the rank of either the First Order or Resistance. For those who prefer the calling of galactic credits, scoundrels are always looking for a helping hand, especially one that’s good for business.
Now, as the reputation of your Sims grow, it’s going to affect how the locals react to them. A Sim that gets high regards from the First Order, for example, is sure to have a difficult time talking with Resistance supporters. Depending on what choices your Sim makes, they get to have certain unique encounters. These can include Vi Moradi running a mission or Rey practicing with her lightsaber. There is even a chance to see Kylo Ren lose his temper.
It wouldn’t be Star Wars without lightsabers. On Batuu, Sims can find parts to make their very own lightsabers. Savi’s Workshop has hilt and kyber crystal options for everyone to choose from. Practicing with a lightsaber, or sparring with other Sims, can also build the Sim's Fitness skill.
Those looking for a friend can collect scrap metal from the various scrap piles from around Batuu and earn galactic credits. They can then buy a droid from the Droid Depot, which offers the R-series and the BB-series. Droids aren’t just there to be a buddy, they can also be helpful when it comes to missions.
Once your Sim returns to the real world, they can bring some stuff with them. This includes Star Wars inspired updates in décor and home design, among many others. Sims can display the antiquities collected on Batuu or even change their style to make their dwellings look like the Black Spire Outpost.
