A modder found evidence The Sims team could have been working on toddlers...that is, until EA had something to say about it. Pekesims, a Spanish-language Sims blog, posted images of toddler assets found in the game, suggesting EA created a base toddler structure. In fact there’s three of them, all with different levels of detail. One Sims4studio member, inabadromance, looked deeper into the textures and was surprised to learn they are near complete.
“The baby is completely done.. like.. it has everything.. i don't know what they are waiting for. it even has..a freaking TONGUE. like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat,” inabadromance wrote in a Sims4Studio thread. “Sims DON'T HAVE TONGUES.. and this invisible baby hidden on the code has a freaking tongue chilling there like no big deal. Unbelievable.”
Needless to say, in true EA fashion, toddler speculation was immediately shot down. EA contacted The Sims Community to clarify these are just old assets being recirculated. You may remember the toddler seen in the render from a special project last October. The Sims team built a family photo for CEO Andrew Wilson to celebrate the birth of his new baby.
Even though this render shouldn’t be taken as evidence EA plans to add toddlers to the game, this the first time we’ve have a good idea of what infants would have looked like in The Sims 4.
