The Sims 4 has never shied away from trying new things so players can have a good time. This time, they’re having an in-game music festival called the Sims Sessions from June 29 to July 7. Players can expect Bebe Rexha to return and perform in Simlish, along with lead singer of Glass Animals, Dave Bayley, and singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun.
Having songs being sung in Simlish is not new. In fact, since 2004, The Sims has partnered with almost 500 artists to have their songs translated and performed in Simlish. If you’re one of those wondering how that sounds, the video below shows some examples:
The Sims Sessions though is the first time that Simlish songs get to officially make their debut in the game in a festival format. As already mentioned, Bebe Rexha is set to make an appearance and perform the Simlish version of Sabotage. Joy Oladokun, meanwhile, is set to showcase her ballad Breathe Again. Finally, expect to dance to the beat of Heat Waves from Dave Bayley.
These songs in Simlish do sound like the originals except the lyrics are closer to gibberish. Still, players can do a lot of things during the festival like they can come up with their best festival fashions or camp out at the venue. There are even exclusive digital merchandise to buy. Not enough? Players can also join The Sims, Bebe Rexha, and some of TikTok’s musical personalities in a virtual #SimlishSessions karaoke challenge.
Talking about this upcoming event, Bebe Rexha shared in a statement that she has long been a fan of the game's ability to empower players and their creativity. She went on to say that the festival is a fun experience for many players and fans worldwide.
Meanwhile, Steve Schnur at EA revealed that the Sims Sessions is pretty much the next evolution of music in the game. With this event, he added, EA is once again setting the bar when it comes to gaming and music.
To join the festival, players need to buy a ticket. Learn more about the Sims Sessions here.
