Spellbreak announced that its closed beta for the PlayStation 4 is live. Those who manage to join should be able to take a closer look at the six classes offered in the game.
In Spellbreak, players are given the ability to choose what class they want. Each class has a unique playstyle along with its own set of skills. Each skill achieved offers players an improvement to their playstyle and differentiates the classes even further.
Let’s start with the Pyromancer, which specializes in fire magic. This class allows players to do large amounts of damage. Spells include Fireball, which is a mid-range combat spell, and Flamewall, which can be used for both offense and defense. There is also the Firefly skill that lets players quickly cover great distances.
From fire we go to ice with Frostborn. This class can create paths of ice, allowing them to travel faster. They are just as deadly in battle with their Ice Lance. It may take some practice to aim, but when Ice Lance hits, the damage is sure to be devastating. When in a bind, Flash Freeze lets Frostborn characters run away to fight another day.
Up next is the Conduit, where players can case Lightning Bolts and summon storms. This class has spells that shock other players. Players that are shocked won’t be able to attack for a limited time, so strategy is good. However, this class also comes with runic magic and better control over mana.
Those who want to take to the skies and rain destruction can choose the Tempest class. The Wind Shear spell lets Tempests get a better vantage point over their opponents. Then there is Tornadoes, which not only allow this class to go even higher, but can even pull enemies in.
Next up is the defensive earth mage Stoneshaper. This class can fight up close and personal or from a distance by throwing giant boulders. The main spell of this class is Shockwave, which tears the ground up and throws it at opponents. Stoneshapers can even spam Boulderfall to rain down destruction.
Finally, there is the Toxicologist. This class offers burst damage and is good for those who want to be sneaky when it comes to their playstyle. Toxic Spray covers the ground in sticky and toxic goo. There’s also Vanishing Mists, where Toxicologists can become invisible and deal even more damage.
