All hands on deck! It's time to take the fight to the Mirror Universe as Star Trek Online launches Stormfall this May 10. It sends Captains on a rescue to prevent the Terran forces from reawakening a dangerous nemesis. In addition to the two new episodes and a Task Force Operation, players can look forward to a complete remaster of the Starfleet tutorial. By the way, this release is limited on PC at the moment. Console players will have their turn in June.
What's exactly happening in this upcoming story arc? For those who can recall, in the final few moments of "Red Shift," players discovered that the one they were looking for was none other than Lieutenant Ilia from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. For Stormfall, Admiral Janeway (voiced by Kate Mulgrew from Star Trek: Voyager) has ordered everyone to go on a mission and rescue the captured Deltan Starfleet Officer from a Terran Space Dock. According to Ilia, she needs help in stopping the Terran Empire from summoning a powerful nemesis.
Leading the Terran forces is none other than the dreaded Captain Killy (voiced by Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery). To stop the Terran forces, Captains need to team up with the former enemy-turned-ally Admiral Leeta (voiced by Chase Masterson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) along with an Andorian rebel named Rae-Yeet (voiced by Noah Averbach-Katz from Star Trek: Discovery).
As mentioned, Stormfall is set to introduce two new featured episodes and a new five-player ground Task Force Operation. There’s also a special event where players can earn a new reward for playing the latest content.
The highlight would have to be the remaster of the tutorial experience for the Starfleet faction. This upgraded tutorial gives new Captains a smoother experience and enjoyable new environments. Expect more interactions as well with both Admiral Janeway and Borg.
More details of this upcoming story arc are revealed once it’s officially released.
