Original Star Wars trilogy veteran Warwick Davis, who played head Ewok Wicket in the 1983 Return of the Jedi, confirmed he will appear in Episode VIII.
Davis spoke with News AU to promote Foxtel Movies, which will show all seven Star Wars films for the first time on TV in Australia. During the interview, Davis was asked whether he has a part in Episode VIII.
"I do, yes," Davis confirmed. "That's all I can say."
Davis also played in The Force Awakens as Wollivan, a scavenging merchent. However, it would be unusual for Davis to be tight-lipped about a role that's already known from the 2015 movie. Could Davis play a different roll instead?
In Episode VI Return of the Jedi, Davis played the head Ewok Wicket, the leader of a clan of fiesty, furry little creatures that helped the Rebel Alliance battle against the Empire in the forests of Endor. Since the lifespan of an Ewok could be up to 70 years, the return of Wicket fits into the Episode VIII timeline.
Finally Davis will play a role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story as well, although his character has yet to be confirmed. Rogue One arrives in theaters on Dec. 16. Episode VIII arrives Dec. 15, 2017.
