The First Order has a Super Star Destroyer, similar to the Imperial flagship — and Darth Vader’s command center — the Executor, which crashed into the second Death Star during the Battle of Endor. The failures of the bigger, bigger, bigger Imperial stratagem may seem obvious to those who witnessed the Empire’s fall, but, if Kylo Ren is any indication, the First Order loves emulation.
Also, this all has something to do with Finn’s butt.
The existence of the First Order Super Star Destroyer leaked to Making Star Wars from the ongoing Star Wars: Episode 8 The Last Jedi post-production. Since Making Star Wars isn’t even bothering to cite anonymous sources anymore, instead describing ships and events as if they’re happening right outside their window, this should all be considered more rumor than plot spoiler. Or maybe their confident swagger adds legitimacy.
Whatever, take it or leave it:
There’s a Super Star Destroyer in Star Wars: the Last Jedi and it looks like a “triangle-shaped wedge” without all the buildings and complicated command stuff on top. Maybe something like a Borg cube cut in half diagonally? It’s big, is what it is. That’s the key here.
Oh, and something happens to Finn’s ass in it.
According to these leaks, Finn will infiltrate this new First Order ship and have a hallway conversation with an old stormtrooper buddy played by Tom Hardy, who smacks his ass playfully. Yes, Tom Hardy smacks John Boyega on the rump in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Eat it, Mad Max sequels stuck in development hell.
So, to recap: new ship, butt. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out in theaters Dec. 15.
