The long-awaited Season 3 of DLC for Street Fighter V has finally been announced. Capcom revealed the six entrants to the fighting game, including some familiar Street Fighter faces, during the Capcom Cup.
In the new cinematic trailer from Capcom, fans see Ryu meditating before he’s approached by Akuma and a huge fight ensues. Check out the new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition trailer below.
The biggest takeaway from the new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition trailer is the inclusion of six new DLC characters. These fighters will be periodically released starting in January.
Street Fighter vets, Sakura, Sagat and Blanka will join Street Fighter V when the arcade edition is dropped as part of the Season 3 of DLC. Cody and G are characters from the Street Fighter: Alpha and Final Fight games, respectively.
Falke is new to the series as she appeared in the story mode of Street Fighter V.
Sakura will be the first DLC character released when the Arcade Edition is released on Jan. 16. Check out her gameplay trailer below.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will release Jan. 16 for $39.99 and includes the original SFV game, season pass for all 12 characters, new costumes, arcade mode, extra battle modes and a second V-Trigger for every character.
A free update will be available for those who already own SFV the same day Arcade Edition releases.
A new arcade mode includes paths themed after Street Fighter 1-4 . Each playthrough unlocks gallery content. There will also be monthly rankings, where the top player may receive a unique online title and a new and improved barrel breaking bonus stage, too.
When players complete arcade mode they receive new illustrations, and there are more than 100 endings availablel. Finally, expect Periodic Extra Battle opportunities, where players can defeat special NPCs and earn fight money or new costumes.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will release on Jan. 16.
