‘Digimon Tri’ Part 1 Release Date: New Video Shows Animation And Scenes From Upcoming Movie Series

During Japan’s Digimon Adventure Fes. 2015 a new video clip was shown of the upcoming Digimon Tri movie series. And Toei Animation’s website streamed the clip for the rest of the world who could not make the festival.

This new video of the first part of the Digimon Tri movie series shows off our Digidestined and their partner Digimon along with some scenes from the first part of the next chapter of the Digimon Adventure anime .

There’s also a cool action sequence between Greymon and Kuwagamon on an airport runway.

For those unfamiliar with the original anime, the song featured in this new clip is from Kouji Wada’s “Butter-Fly” while AiM (Ai Maeda) is returning for the first part's ending theme "I wish." Ayumi Miyazaki also returns to perform the insert song, "Brave Heart."

But those who attended the Digimon Fes. 2015 were also treated to this new poster of Tai and Matt with Omnimon against a new foe.

And while fans of the original Digimon Adventure series are happy to see the characters they grew up with grow up themselves, the voice actors for the Digidestined are different from the originals.

However, the Digimon partners will be voiced by the original voice actors from the first Adventure series so there’s always that.

Digimon Tri Part 1 will be split into six animated movies instead of the mini-series that was set to air on television with Part 1 set to release in Japan on Nov. 21.
