With the Captain America: Civil War trailer still alluding fans of the Marvel Studios movies -- unless you check out the leaked screenshots -- details regarding the third installment of the Captain America series are coming in fast.

But with Iron Man and Cap’s sides chosen in Civil War, one character that is noticeably absent is Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk.

In an interview with bastaste.it -- via ComingSoon.net -- spoke about his character’s role, or lack thereof, in Civil War and where the Hulk goes from here.

“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie (Civil War),” Ruffalo tells BadTaste.it . “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.”

So what does this mean for the big guy? It could be pointing to a solo Hulk film, which is the likely case but with the Marvel Studios movie slate pretty packed as is the studio will have to figure out a way to make time for the solo movie.

Hulk could show up in a number of upcoming Marvel movies like Doctor Strange or Black Panther but it doesn’t seem like that will be the case.

The Hulk was last seen in Age of Ultron where he helped fight off the titular villain before leaving the Avengers to be alone.

Captain America: Civil War will have enough heroes involved, so there isn’t a shortage of characters as we’ve had set photos leaked showing Black Panther fighting Winter Soldier and confirmation that Spider-Man will be in the movie as well.

But we want to know your thoughts, what is the fate of the Hulk in the Marvel cinematic universe? Sound off in the comments section below.
