Star Wars Battlefront has updated once again, bringing more free content along with it. This time we have a new map on Endor for big battle modes, and a new survival mission in a familiar location.

First up, the new map. Called Survivors of Endor, this new map works with the big Walker Assault, Supremacy and Turning Point game modes. Unfortunately, because of all the trees, Survivors of Endor does NOT work with Fighter Squadron.

I don’t want to negate what I said about the last update, but Survivors of Endor is NOW the best looking map in Star Wars Battlefront. While it looks somewhat similar to the previous Endor map, Survivors of Endor feels much more like a war. Trees are blowing up and falling over, there are massive fires and old machines that have been blown to bits. Everything feels more chaotic and destructive.

While the majority of gameplay is done above ground, there are also secret caves that weave under the surface. These caves are stunning to walk through, complete with glistening spider webs. They also provide a safer way to cut across the map, especially when playing on Walker Assault.

The familiar Ewok villages also make a reappearance on Survivors of Endor, but play a much smaller role than previous levels. Here they only really show up towards the end of each round. If you want that elevation advantage, don’t worry. Survivors of Endor is a very sloped map, so if you get to the sides you’ll still have a good view of the mayhem.

As for the new survival mission, get ready to live through 15 waves of enemies at the Rebel Depot map. We’ve already seen this one across many game modes, so it’s nothing that new. A pro-tip for winning this mission: jump up on the Millennium Falcon. So few enemies will be able to get you up here that you’ll be able to easily pick them off one by one.

As a whole, this free March update is a mixed bag. The Survivors of Endor map is stunning, and definitely makes you feel like you are a part of a huge intergalactic war. The “new” survival mission feels like a retread. Considering the price of zero dollars and free cents though, it’s really hard to complain.

The free March update is now live to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The paid March DLC will be coming later in the month. No other updates for Star Wars Battlefront have been released yet, so there’s no new patch notes to read over. This update is purely for the new content.
