First announced in 2018, the 3D space shooter Subdivision Infinity DX’s release across PC and console is becoming more and more a reality as each day passes. As announced just recently by the tandem of developer Mistfly Games and publisher Blowfish Studios, Subdivision Infinity DX will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC via Steam on August 8, 2019.
Originally created for iOS and Android, Subdivision Infinity DX has been completely overhauled and recreated to make use of the powerful hardware not found in any mobile device. Its mobile iterations have received positive reception, mostly for covering the basics and fundamentals that create a solid 3D space shooter. However, Subdivision Infinity DX is planning much more for its PC and console debut. Aside from bringing in a number of missions from the original mobile game, Subdivision Infinity DX is taking a much more story-driven approach for the 3D space shooter. Also, added elements that increase replayability, such as “endless ship upgrades”, bounty systems, and search for rare resources will be introduced.
Subdivision Infinity DX takes you into the cockpit of an intergalactic jet fighter and allows you to explore the vast expanses of outer space. Gameplay consists of more than 40 engaging story missions and side quests that take players across several star systems.
Subdivision Infinity DX tells the story of Sgt. Jed Riddle and his eponymous Subdivision Infinity team. Riddle, with a reputation of being a young, cocky pilot, falls into the center of a growing conflict involving a rare element and a group of mercenaries who have a goal of acquiring the element by any means necessary. It is up to Riddle’s Subdivision Infinity to stop these forces with malicious intent.
With the way the game is shaping up right now, picking up Subdivision Infinity DX should be a no-brainer for both fans of the space shooter genre and those who are new to it. To be honest, the only thing that can improve it for me now is if they suddenly announced multiplayer and cross-platform options, but I digress. With a price point currently set at $14.99, Subdivision Infinity DX will be available on August 8, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
