Syed Hassan, better known as SumaiL in the Dota 2 scene, has parted ways with esports organization Evil Geniuses after they finished in sixth place at The International 2019. Yes, that is right – he is no longer part of the team that jumpstarted his career a few years ago. It is a hard one and fans are still trying to process the fact that EG no longer has the King of the Mid.

Following EG’s announcement of its new roster, SumaiL posted a tweet and discussed what he thought about. He simply poured out his thoughts and gave his fans a look-see at what his future might hold.

“It was a wild ride for almost 5 years on Evil Geniuses. The team I started my career and was planning to end it on,” SumaiL said. “Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Good luck to EG, and yeah, love you all for mad support. I'm not taking a break or retiring that goes without, doesn't it?”

Before the aforementioned tweet, Evil Geniuses shocked the scene when they said that the mid-laner would no longer be part of the team. The announcement also confirmed that Gustav “S4” Magnusson would be replaced. Replacing SumaiL in the role is Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop, who previously played with Fnatic. S4, on the other hand, is being replaced by Virtus.pro carry Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev.

SumaiL rose to fame thanks to his aggressive plays in the mid lane. He tends to bully opponents from every angle possible. And when the enemy thinks he has the upper hand, SumaiL surprises them with a counterattack. The way he played Mirana, in particular, allowed EG to be a fortress during its run in The International 2015, where they eventually grabbed the Aegis of Champions.

The Pakistani professional Dota 2 player is being regarded as the single best mid laner in the world. And while his cocky attitude can easily earn the ire of fans and players alike, SumaiL always proves his doubters and haters wrong. That comeback game against EHOME during The International 2016 was proof of SumaiL’s expertise.
