A list of projects affected by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which sees video game voice actors demanding better compensation for their work, seems to have outed a previously announced Guardians of the Galaxy project in development at Telltale Games. Details on the game remain scarce; however, with a new Guardians film expected next year, but many fans are wondering if it might bridge the gap between the first and second movies.

A big part of the reason we’re so out of the loop, about the unannounced Guardians of the Galaxy video game, is because the project was outed via a simple list of games being affected by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. There aren’t any leaked trailers or concept art. No internally-circulated documents from the developer/publisher. Just a 10 word entry, “Guardians of the Galaxy - The Video Game aka. Blue Harvest”, wedged in-between listings for something called “U4 DLC” and The Walking Dead: Season 3. And that doesn’t give us much to work with.

If the studio’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy project does span the gap between the first two films, it seems likely that the series would follow the same expedited release schedules for Batman: The Telltale Series and Minecraft: Story Mode. The next Guardians film is expected to hit theaters in May, giving Telltale a little over 6 months to finish its first episodic series inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Assuming they wanted to have the full season of Guardians available before the next movie hits the silver screen.
