Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, the latest Gearbox Software title, is less than ten days away. The game launches on March 25 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PC version will be exclusive to Epic Games Store, which means Steam fans either have to buy the game on EGS or wait for the exclusivity period to end.
A recent blog has revealed tons of new technical information about the game. So, let’s get to it.
Cross-Play Support on All Platforms
The developer revealed that the game supports cross-play between platforms at launch. When opening the game for the first time, players will have to set a Crossplay Display Name, which will be used for SHiFT Matchmaking. You will have to do this step even if you turn off the cross-play feature.
Crossplay Display Name should follow the following rules:
- Must be a unique name not already in use by another Tiny Tina's Wonderlands player
- Must be between 3-16 characters long
- Must start with a letter, and is limited to a-z, A-Z, 0-9, or non-consecutive underscore, hyphen, or period/full-stop characters
You can also change your name by going to the in-game Social menu option or by visiting the account page of the SHiFT website.
Split-Screen Options
The developer revealed a cool feature for the game as well. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will support local split-screen multiplayer on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The current-gen console supports four-player split-screen, whereas past-gen consoles support split-screen for two players.
When playing with two players, every console will have the option to select between horizontal or vertical split-screen orientations. Split-screen for PC hasn’t been confirmed, so I won’t hold my breath about it.
Speaking of PC, the developer has revealed the official PC system requirements and the list of visual options that players can change.
