Titanfall 2 developer Respawn Entertainment has released the first in a series of videos highlighting the development process for Titanfall 2. The video series is aimed at hardcore gamers who want to see how the game is made, and will shy away from “marketing speak” as host Drew McCoy puts it. McCoy is a producer on Titanfall 2.
This is the introduction video, so not much has actually been discussed so far. McCoy mentions that future installments to the video series will talk about the major changes Respawn as made to Titanfall 2’s multiplayer, especially when it comes to server hosting and how matchmaking will work.
Additionally, McCoy mentions there will be a new feature coming to Titanfall 2 called Networks. These networks will allow you to make groups of friends and play together easier.
Outside of back-end changes like matchmaking and server hosting, the video series should also dive into gameplay information as well. McCoy mentions there has been a change to the player progression system, so expect to learn more about that and other changes in future videos.
Titanfall 2 will release for Xbox One, PC and PS4 Oct. 28. Like other online multiplayer games, especially EA games, there will be a multiplayer beta before launch if you want to try out Titanfall 2 before you buy it. No official dates for the beta have been mentioned yet, but given the game’s release on Oct. 28, it’s likely to see the beta run in late September or early October.
