Today’s Hearthstone: Whisper of the Old Gods cards are corrupted versions of classic Hearthstone cards. BlizzPro unveiled Ravaging Ghoul ¸ an Unstable Ghoul that happens to be standing upright. It’s a three mana 3/3 Warrior minion that has a Battlecry that does one damage to all minions on the board. Remember how annoying Patron Warrior was? Well Blizzard thought you missed it, so they gave us this beautiful zombie. Its stats are great, and it trades evenly with the best three-mana minions, like Spider Tank .
Warriors already have plenty of good three-mana cards, so this might be a tough sell. Bash, Shield Block, and Acolyte of Pain all do wonders for Control Warrior. Ravaging Ghoul is good to play when your opponent has a lot of small minions or even an empty board. I can just see how salty a Paladin player will get after having their Muster For Battle minions blown up, leaving them with a three mana hammer. The perfect warrior curve might soon be Armorsmith - Ravaging Ghoul - Death’s Bite - Shield Maiden . Throw in a Justicar Trueheart on turn six and you’ve got yourself a “well fought, I concede.”
Roger’s card isn’t officially in English yet and reddit hasn’t had the best track record getting
English names right, so let’s call it Mire Keeper. It’s a four mana 3/3 Druid minion whose Battlecry summons a 2/2 Ooze or gain one mana crystal. No matter which effect you do, you are getting a bargain for four mana. Still, it’s stats aren’t amazing: with the ooze it’s a 5/5 for four mana, which is on par with Piloted Shredder.
It’s a great card, but there’s not much to say about it right now. It will either become a staple or forgotten, like most other outlier Druid cards. Keeper of the Grove has definitely seen some shit though, looks like he failed to safeguard his land.
