Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is getting post-launch support even after almost seven years. The developer had already revealed the roadmap for Year 7. However, it also claimed that it could get changed every season, and it looks like the developer isn't lying.
Ubisoft recently announced that the roadmap has been updated. Some new things are added, and several more are delayed; we will discuss everything here.
New Map Delayed, Old Map Added
Players were supposed to receive a new map in Competitive in Season 3. But that won’t be happening because that map is pushed to Season 4. Though, there’s a surprise. In Season 3, players will get an older map that fans have already played in an event, which has never been added to Competitive mode. The developer didn’t reveal the name, but there’s a good chance that it's Stadium. I was hoping for Bartlett U., but hey, you can’t always get what you want.
Ranked 2.0 Delay and Major Balancing Changes
The overhaul of Ranked mode, Ranked 2.0, is also getting delayed to Season 4. Season 3 will instead feature major balancing changes, including tweaks for LMGs and Finka's meta. The balancing changes will be quite big, and it plans to “update to Siege's moment-to-moment balance than we typically release in a single season.”
More Delays
Two more things that were initially supposed to come in Season 3 have been delayed to Season 4. These are:
- Restrictions on voice chat, shifting from Y7S3 to Y7S4
- Reputation Score display beta, shifting from Y7S3 to Y7S4.
It’s a shame that we will have to wait for another season to get all the cool stuff, but I guess the delay is better than broken content. You can read the official blog post for more information.
