With just a handful of weeks remaining before the UFC 2 release date, EA Sports has finally released the complete roster for the next entry in its next-gen MMA series. We’d be lying if we said we weren’t blown away by just how extensive the EA Sports UFC 2 roster is going to be.
Obviously, the champions and top contenders from each weight class will be present in UFC 2. Fighters like Dominick Cruz, Holly Holm, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will form the backbone of the roster, giving players a target to aim for when guiding custom fighters through UFC 2’s career mode. We also know legends like Mirko Cro Cop, Royce Gracie, Bas Rutten, Kazushia Sakuraba and boxing legend “Iron” Mike Tyson will make the final cut, too. But MMA fans might be surprised by how many current and upcoming fighters EA Sports managed to cram onto the UFC 2 roster.
For every Urijah Faber or Nick Diaz, EA Sports UFC 2 includes fighters like Cody Garbrandt or Derek Brunson: extremely capable fighters who haven’t quite become household names just yet. There is no shortage of UFC Legends, either. Iconic (but still active) fighters like Anderson Silva, BJ Penn, Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping will appear alongside the retired fighters making their digital return to the Octagon. WWE fans can even look forward to leading CM Punk through his UFC debut.
To see the entire list of fighters who will be featured in UFC 2, head over to the game’s official website. Alternately, if you’d rather get another look at the game before launch, take a few minutes to check out the latest pair of UFC 2 trailers from EA Sports.
EA Sports UFC 2 is being developed for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and currently scheduled to debut on March 15.
