UPDATE: Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed plans to host an Uncharted 4 multiplayer stress test this weekend. The test will begin at 9:00 a.m. (PST) on Friday, March 4, and continue until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday night. Sony says pre-loading will begin on Tuesday to give everyone a chance to install the client before the test begins. Presumably, everything else we learned about the Uncharted 4 beta -- three maps, only team deathmatch, etc -- will remain the same.

Original Story: New details on a rumored Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer beta appear to have been leaked by Sony, via the European PlayStation Network, and it sounds like we’re just a few days removed from the next big testing period for Uncharted 4.

Word of the next Uncharted 4 beta comes more than two months after Sony and Naughty Dog hosted a private beta for the project, open only to those who purchased a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. There’s yet to be any official comment from Sony on the matter; however, details included on the (since removed) Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Open Weekend listing don’t leave much doubt about the existence of the previously unannounced open beta. At this point, the only real question is whether or not the listing was pulled because the testing dates were wrong.

While the listing has since been pulled from the European PlayStation Network, and we’ve yet to see a similar page appear in other regions, details on the since removed page suggest a relatively light testing experience is on the way. Assuming it’s real, the Uncharted 4 open beta will apparently include three unique maps, each based on locales visited during the game’s campaign. An image captured by Shack News suggests Team Deathmatch will be the only game mode available during the testing period. But that shouldn’t be much of an issue, since the Uncharted 4 beta is only expected to last around 48 hours.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is being developed exclusively for PS4 and scheduled to debut on April 26.
