Wanted: Dead is all set for release tomorrow, February 14. Yes, the game is launching on Valentine's Day, coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
As part of the lead-up to the release, a World Overview trailer was released which featured Stefanie Joosten, a Dutch model, actress, and singer based in Japan. She became the darling of many video gamers when Konami announced that she was the one providing not just the motion capture but also likeness and voice for the character Quiet of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Going back to the trailer, it offers a deeper dive into the story of the game. We get to meet Vivienne Niemantsverdriet, a multi-disciplinary Olympian that was once a celebrity chef, master gunsmith, and now part of the Hong Kong police force. You can watch the trailer below:
Wanted: Dead is set in a time where a Great War has ended the world that we once knew. The superpowers that once ruled over everyone are no more. Taking their place is a new force known as Dauer Synthetics, which has the Hong Kong police force forming part of their private security.
However, there is an elite team that works outside the responsibility of the traditional police force. Known as the Zombie Unit, this is the group that master gunsmith Vivienne works for. Other members include Cortez, Doc, Herzog, Captain Simmons and Detective Stone. Players take on the role of Lt. Hannah Stone, the leader of the Zombie Unit.
Wanted: Dead boasts of being a game where Ninja Gaiden meets Cyberpunk. It does introduce a truly hardcore experience with fights clearly not for those with faint of heart. The game offers a brutal combination of melee sword combat, gunplay, and a unique limb severing system.
