Publisher 110 Industries and developer Soleil unveiled a brand-new gameplay trailer for Wanted: Dead, the upcoming third-person action game releasing for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on February 14, 2023. A few weeks ago, the publisher announced a delay for the upcoming title from its previous Q4 2022 release window. Check out the new gameplay trailer for Wanted: Dead below.
This new gameplay trailer for Wanted: Dead, which debuted at Tokyo Game Show 2022, features not only action-packed gameplay but some previously unseen gameplay aspects as well. Wanted: Dead will apparently have Yakuza-inspired minigames, such as a rhythm section, as protagonist Lt. Hannah Stone is shown competing against her colleague. However, it’s not the usual karaoke or dance-off, but a ramen-eating challenge featuring a service bot, adding a layer of humor to the upcoming game.
Wanted: Dead is a new, upcoming hybrid slasher/shooter action game developed by Soleil, the same studio behind Valkyrie Elysium, Ninja Gaiden, and Dead or Alive. It follows a week in the life of the elite Zombie Unit, a Hong Kong-based police squad on a mission to uncover a major corporate conspiracy. This alternate version of Hong Kong mixes future tech cyberpunk with low-tech 90s retro-futurism, a very interesting combination. You play as Lt. Hannah Stone, a hard-boiled Hong Kong cop as she and her squad plow through mercenaries, gang members, and dangerous private military contractors in this weird and spectacular cyberpunk adventure.
The game is known for blending two gameplay aspects, as Lt. Stone can eviscerate enemies with her melee weapon, accompanied by flashy moves with unique finishers, and wield a variety of guns and arsenal to eliminate enemies from afar. As noted by developer Soleil, Wanted: Dead is a “AAA love letter” to the sixth generation of consoles, a statement that is possibly a reference to its roots and inspirations taken from the early Yakuza titles. Wanted: Dead is now up for wishlisting across all platforms, and you can read more about the game here.
