After five grueling games, Counter Logic Gaming managed to clutch a victory against Team Liquid. The series was intense, as both teams were equally blood thirsty and hungry. Each game was a stomp for one side, Team Liquid would get 12 kills and CLG would get one, and then the next game TL would get eight and CLG would get 24. Jatt on the analyst desk described this series as “crush for crush.”

The best highlight of the first four games was a wombo-combo so glorious not even Malphite could improve it . In game four, Team Liquid got a three man Bard ultimate, which went into an Ekko stun and a Karma mantra-empowered blast. It annihilated three members of CLG, allowing TL to snowball the rest of the game.

The last game is where things really got interesting. Both teams fought as much as they could, trading kills every few minutes. When it was time for Baron, both teams went into overdrive. CLG and TL traded kill for kill over and over, unable to actually start Baron. At one point both teams lost their supports and tried to do Baron multiple times. Out of the 10 games of LCS today, this was by far the most interesting to watch.

Karma was a major factor this series, either helping teams push their advantage when ahead, or falling super behind and never coming back. Ekko was also a nuisance – Since patch 6.6, he’s been top-tier. On Darshan or Lourlo, he’s a time traveling beast, diving turrets or whole teams without a care in the world. Darshan bought a Mejai's Soulstealer for Ekko that got to 17 stacks.

The ending is what will really blow you away. Most of Team Liquid is dead, except for Piglet on Caitlyn. He sees a teleport in front of him, so he puts down a trap. Turns out it’s not just one member of CLG, but two who quickly blow up Piglet. It was an inventive strategy that ended up winning them the game. With no opposition, they swept the Nexus and won the series.

These two teams put up one unbelievable fight, and one of the most interesting series of season six. Tomorrow we have TSM vs Immortals which should be another one for the history books.
