Despite the many issues Blizzard has faced last week, the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade pre-patch is now available. Players can create new characters and enjoy the two new races added to the roster - the Draenei and the Blood Elves. While players are already enjoying their time with the pre-patch, there are still some bugs that need to be ironed out.
In a forum post, user “Axewipe” found an issue where a cloned character has experienced a problem with its data.
You see, the developer has given players the chance to clone their WoW Classic characters to the new Burning Crusade Classic server for a small fee. This is so that they don't have to choose between playing in the classic server or in the new TBC server once it is launched on June 1.
That said, the user's level 60 Orc Warrior from the classic server did not have the same PvP rank after the cloning process. The good news is that it is a known bug and the developers are already working on a fix.
The Issue
In a thread, community manager Randy “Kaivax” Jordan said that developers have already found the problem and are releasing a hotfix patch early next week.
The problem here is that the player’s data is incorrectly calculated in the Burning Crusade Classic server. Fortunately, players who experience the same issue need not worry as their characters’ data are intact and will be fixed soon.
If you can remember, the pre-patch for the highly anticipated Burning Crusade Classic update was released last week, but it was met with a lot of unforeseen circumstances.
The maintenance took longer than expected because the developers had to repeat some processes to preserve data integrity. Their main issue was with player mail which led the developers to copy huge amounts of data properly to avoid complications.
The reported problem that players have encountered may be related to the mail issue stated above. If you have faced something similar, do not worry as the developers are dealing with it.
How is your experience with the pre-patch so far?
