By now, most Xbox Game Pass subscribers should be aware that the beginning of a month means new games that get added to the subscription service. October is no different when it comes to surprises. The subscription-based service already includes well over 100 games that fans can enjoy for a small $10 per month fee. With Microsoft acquiring ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Games, the tech giant has also gained rights to Bethesda's franchises, including Doom, The Elder Scrolls, and Fallout. Microsoft has also confirmed that Xbox Game Pass will include these newly-acquired games in the future.
To kick things off, the first Bethesda game that's coming to Xbox Game Pass is Doom Eternal, along with four other games including Forza Motorsport 7, Brutal Legend, Ikenfell, and Drake Hollow. However, fans will have their eyes glued to Doom Eternal, which was released earlier this year to great reception among fans and critics alike. The game was considered as a perfect sequel to the already well-designed Doom 2016 reboot. Doom Eternal is also set to receive its first-ever paid story expansion DLC called The Ancient Gods on October 20.
Speaking of other games that are being added to the service, Forza Motorsport 7 is also a Microsoft first-party title, and is a realistic driving sim. Brutal Legend was originally released in 2009, starring Jack Black. The game features hack-n-slash combat coupled with heavy metal music and some RPG elements. This addition was also likely because of another Microsoft studio acquisition, this time for the developer Double Fine.
There's also a high chance that Microsoft may add some of the other Bethesda games to Xbox Game Pass next month. Unlike other third-party titles that leave the service after some time, Microsoft's first-party games like the Forza, Gears of War, and Bethesda games will likely remain on the service.
Xbox Game Pass already flaunts some of the best games that players can enjoy including Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, The Witcher 3, Metro: Exodus, and more.
Xbox Game Pass is available on Xbox One, PC, and Android.
