A video of Yakuza 6’s gameplay has popped up online, and it shows off some brutal fighting action. Unfortunately, the video is entirely in Japanese so we don’t know everything that gets mentioned. For now, enjoy the fast fist-fights.
The first fight starts at around the 0:55 second mark in the video. From what we can see, the fighting looks to involve different types of attacks with a heavy emphasis on blocking and parrying. I don’t want to immediately call it an Arkham-type system, but it certainly looks the part.
From here, we get more fights. One interesting mechanic on display is the “overcharge” like ability. When this gets activated, the main protagonist in the video is enshrouded in blue. An example of this happens at around the 4:45 mark.
When this ability is activated, it seems that player’s actions do more damage. There is also a special mode unlocked that zooms in on the point of impact for any attack. Based on what I can see onscreen, mashing the Triangle button results in massive amounts of damage dealt to enemies this way.
I’m sure more information was revealed during this video that I cannot talk about due to not being fluent in Japanese.
Yakuza 6 will be a PS4 exclusive game, releasing some time this Fall. There have been no confirmation of dates yet, and there hasn’t been any mention of if this release is only for Japan, or for a worldwide audience.
So what do you think? Are you interested in seeing more action from Yakuza 6? What other games are you excited to see get released this year? Are you fluent in Japanese and can tell us wtf is happening? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
