In anticipation of Fallout 4 coming out in just about one month, we've compiled a list of things you should already know about the game. Seeing as how you start out in Vault 111, why not feature 111 awesome Fallout 4 facts? Check out what you probably already know about Fallout 4, with some facts that may surprise you!
- Fallout 4 is set in Boston
- Boston is in Massachusetts
- Fallout 4 is the first game developed by Bethesda Studios for the Xbox One and PS4
- Fallout 4 will be released on Nov. 10, 2015
- The regular version of Fallout 4 will retail for $59.99
- There will be a Season Pass available that includes all future DLC releases
- The Season Pass will cost $29.99
- Fallout 4 will be available used in 2019 for $10-15
- Mods will be available for all consoles at some point in the future
- Like Dogmeat in Fallout 3 and Rex in Fallout: New Vegas, you can also have a dog companion in Fallout 4
- The dog’s name in Fallout 4 is…. also Dogmeat
- Humans, like the ones in Fallout 4, have a long history of naming their animal companions, which personifies them in a way which feels more like a member of the family than the animals they are

- If you are brave enough, you can even skip weapons altogether, fighting with just your bare hands

- Despite appearances, Fallout 4 is set in the future
- The story takes place 200 years after The Great War
- Keeping with the theme of previous Fallout games, Fallout 4 will feature a 1950s aesthetic in its post-apocalyptic wasteland
- Popular songs and catchphrases from the 1950s also make an appearance in Fallout 4
- Less popular aspects of 1950s culture don’t make the cut, like casual racism and sexism
- Well…. except against Ghouls, Super Mutants, and Commies
- Many humans survived the apocalypse in Fallout 4 by living in shelters called Vaults
- There will be a base-building component to Fallout 4
- Players will be able to collect resources and followers to send to their bases
- The base can be upgraded in many different ways
- Contrary to previous reports, the base building will not have a feel of “The LEGO Movie on meth”
- Wild animals often are threats when playing Fallout 4
- These animals include Radroaches, Bloodbugs, and the dreaded Deathclaw

- There aren’t many trees in the Fallout universe

- If you find a tree, typically something bad is about to happen
- What I’m trying to get at here is watch out for trees in Fallout 4
- Bottle caps serve as currency in Fallout 4
- Caps can be used to buy goods and services

- Look, I don’t know why people use bottle caps for money
- No, there still is old money, but people don’t recognize its value anymore
- There are robots in Fallout 4
- Robots can be both helpful and destructive, so watch out
- Wait, you’re back to the bottle cap thing again?
- Seriously, let the caps thing go
- I don’t know why a toaster is worth 8 caps, but a shotgun is only worth 4
- The main Skill points for Characters in Fallout 4 are referred to as S.P.E.C.I.A.L
- S stands for Strength
- P stands for Perception
- E stands for Endurance
- C stands for Cookie, that’s good enough for me
- I stands for Intelligence
- A stand for Agility
- L stands for Luck
- Players will be able to craft weapons in Fallout 4
- Players will not be able to Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
- Players will be able to completely customize their character
- Customized characters can either be a man or a woman
- Characters will have two eyes
- They will also have two ears
- It may be possible to only have one eyebrow though, I’m not positive
- It will be possible to romance your companion in Fallout 4
- It will be possible to have same-sex romances in Fallout 4
- The Pip-Boy is a tool in Fallout 4
- The Pip-Boy serves as the pause screen, allowing players to manage their health, items, and more
- When you turn the knob on your Pip-Boy, and it makes a sound, you call it a Pip-Squeak
- Stim-Paks can be used to regain health
- Players can also drink water to regain health
- Make sure you check to see if the water is clean or irradiated first
- Then again, if you’re drinking water from a 300 year old toilet, a little radiation probably shouldn’t be your first concern
- Sleeping in Fallout 4 can also be used to heal broken bones, just like in real life
- Players can get addicted to drugs
- Use the left stick on your controller to move around
- Use the right stick on your controller to look around
- Many “brand names” from the Fallout universe return in Fallout 4
- Some of these include Nuka-Cola, Sugar Bombs, and InstaMash
- There will be several main story quests, and even more side quests in Fallout 4
- Players will end up getting distracted by a side quest at some point while playing
- Players will then end up getting distracted while on that side quest
- Yankees suck, go Sawks
- Unlike the Elder Scrolls series, books aren’t readable in Fallout
- However, with the game set in Boston, nobody will really notice this is an issue
- There are no vehicles that you can drive in Fallout 4
- There is fast-travel in Fallout 4
- Many different stores are available to trade or purchase items from
- The higher your charisma score, the better the deals are
- Few of these stores have anything useful
- Super Mutants can be found wandering the Wastelands in Fallout 4
- All of the non-Super Mutants can be found at Professor Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters
- Which is weird, come to think of it. You’d think the Super Mutants would, you know what? Never mind
- Neither Kenan Thompson or Kel Mitchell will have a cameo in Fallout 4
- Fallout 4 was officially announced in a trailer released on June 3, 2015
- The higher a player’s strength, the more items he or she can carry
- If you carry too many items, you can become over encumbered
- This leads to players having to make tough decisions, like having to drop the Fat Man or their collection of 47 toy cars
