Normally, we get tons of games during the fourth quarter of a year. However, it’s a little different this time around. Several big-budget AAA titles are releasing early into the year, especially in February. We have mentioned all the important games coming next month below.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
The sequel to the hit open-world zombie game, Dying Light, has been in development for a while now. The game’s scope is expanded, and the world changes according to your choices. The game suffered from multiple delays, including an indefinite one. The last delay pushed the game from a December 2021 release to February 2022 release.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human will arrive on February 4 on all major platforms.
Sifu
Sifu might not be a AAA title, but it has definitely garnered some attention thanks to its unique gameplay. The game lets you play as a kung-fu student who must defeat several enemies. Your character will age each time you respawn. The game will be released on PS4, PS5, and PC on February 8.
Horizon Forbidden West
PlayStation fans have been patiently waiting for this game. It’s a sequel to the surprise hit, Horizon Zero Dawn, with visuals that blew people away because of lighting and dense foliage. What’s surprising is that Forbidden West will be launched on both PS4 and PS5. I don’t know how the title will run on an eight-year-old piece of hardware, but I am curious. The game will hit the shelf on February 8.
According to the Nvidia leak, there is a good chance that Horizon Forbidden West will eventually get a PC release.
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
In all fairness, this title is not a new game but still worth mentioning. The highly anticipated The Witch Queen expansion pack is expected to arrive on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on February 22. It will cost you $39.99, but we recommend the title if you are a hardcore Destiny 2 fan.
Elden Ring
Ok, you knew this title was coming. This list would have been incomplete without Elden Ring. The next FromSoftware title will finally be released on all major platforms, February 25. It is an open-world game with your classic Souls-like gameplay.
The hype for Elden Ring is real. It has already won Most Anticipated Title of the Year by The Game Awards two times in a row. It's probably going to be a GOTY contender for this year as well
