Late last month, Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) America revealed information about the upcoming remastered version of Japanese role-playing game The Alliance Alive HD Remastered. This new and improved version should be coming on October 8, 2019. We haven’t heard any updates until now, when NIS America just released a character trailer titled “Unlikely Heroes,” and also confirmed one of our assumptions: it will also be available for PC (according to the title of its YouTube video, anyway). The release date of the PC version will be announced at a later time.
The 2 minute 14 second trailer showed the nine main characters we should be looking out for. For those who have already played its original Nintendo 3DS version, the names should sound similar. Seen in the video are Azura, Galil, Barbarosa, Renzo, Gene, Rachel, Ignace, Vivian, and Tiggy.
A couple of gameplay elements were also seen, as were the noticeably improved graphics on display in the clip.
For those who are new to the title, here’s a short summary of the plot for The Alliance Alive HD Remastered by NIS America: ‘‘Despite coming from different races and ideologies, nine individuals come together to unite a fractured world and reclaim it from the Daemons, invaders that caused darkness to envelop the sky.”
The story revolves around the struggle of humanity against Daemons, creatures from another realm that invaded Earth because of an energy that can be found in the human realm called Chaos. The nine main characters then unite under a resistance group called Night Crows, despite their vastly different backgrounds.
The Alliance Alive HD Remastered has received positive reviews, crediting its strong narrative and immersive gameplay by utilizing known RPG elements to the fullest. Now that it’s confirmed that the title will be available for multiple platforms, The Alliance Alive HD Remastered should reach its potential as a classic RPG by improving on perhaps its weakest point: its so-so graphics.
The Alliance Alive HD Remastered will launch on October 8, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. A PC release date is coming soon, so stay tuned for upcoming updates.
