A free update is set to arrive in Animal Crossing: New Horizons this November 5. There’s a lot of new things to look forward to like the new café opening on the museum’s second floor. Players can also take a boat tour or do some shopping. In addition to the new content, there are also other customizations and features made available.
A Cup a Day
As mentioned, a new area will be available in the museum. Called The Roost, it’s being managed by Brewster. For those not familiar, Brewster is a character in previous Animal Crossing games. To access this new location, players need to fulfill a certain favor from director Blathers. Besides having a relaxing time, players also get the chance to meet some island residents.
Those who use the amiibo phone inside the café get to invite other characters to join them with compatible amiibo cards. Players can also invite friends to visit their island and bring them over to the Roost.
Take a Tour
At the pier, look for Kapp’n so he can give you a tour of the remote islands. Along the way, he’s going to serenade you. Once you arrive on the islands, you’ll probably see some mysterious flora.
Take the Time to Shop
Once the update goes live, do your shopping on Harv’s Island. After the renovation, he’s inviting some shops to launch an open market. Redd, Saharah, and Kicks are joining the activity. Reese and Cyrus meanwhile will offer furniture customization, especially those who can’t be done with DIY workbenches. Harriet is also coming who can teach a little something about hairstyles. Finally, Katrina is more than willing to help players know their fortune.
What’s Cooking?
Cooking will be added to DIY recipes. Once you’re done growing the likes of tomatoes, potatoes, and carrots, just combine them and fill up that dining table with delicious treats.
Other things arriving with the free update are:
- Unearth Gyroids
- Fossils are usually dug from the ground but this time they can be found in gyroids.
- Each gyroid plays unique sounds so be sure to customize them to match the surroundings.
- Further Support to the Island Life
- Nook, Inc. is offering to further support everyone’s island life.
- These include group stretching at the plaza or bigger home storage.
