A new map is coming to Apex Legends as part of Eclipse. It's the fifth map of the game and it's called Broken Moon.
Broken Moon is actually a terraforming project commissioned by the Cleo Recovery Council resulting from a catastrophic meteor impact that happened in 2708. With help from the Boreas Science Division, the moon eventually became habitable by 2715. To get more funding for colonization, the government entered into a contract with the Syndicate to have the Apex Games held on the moon.
In terms of size, Broken Moon is the same as that of World's Edge. This new map offers a wide range of terrain with locations ranging from gardens to a wharf, and even a terraforming machine.
Before we take a closer look into what Broken Moon has to offer, you should note that there are zip rails that allow you to move from one location to another. These rails have been set up on predetermined paths so you can travel from one point of interest to the next. The rails have the same functions as when you are on a zip line but only with increased speed and momentum.
Here are some locations that you can keep an eye out for:
- Terraformer
- This was constructed to prevent the moon from dying and is a massive symmetrical structure located in the off-center of the map.
- It's a “king-of-the-hill” drop location that has loot throughout and supports up to four teams with comfortable landing spots.
- Stasis Net Array
- The particle beam emitted from this location is the reason why the moon debris continues to float and not crash down.
- It's a completely asymmetrical space with a central honeypot of loot and provides a lot of ways to escape and flank the main structure.
- The Divide
- One of the first towns on Cleo but was split because of the continued instability on the moon.
- It's a clustered spot of vertical houses filled with loot, separated by bridges, and connected by zip rails. This is a fast-paced and high-energy location where skills on zip rails can lead to a quick victory.
Broken Moon goes live on November 1. Learn more about it here.
