In case you didn't know, there's such a thing as the App Store Awards. For this year, six games were on the spotlight and chosen on how each one was able to inspire users to engage more deeply with the world. The selection was done by the global App Store editorial team of Apple.
For the games, here are this year's winners:
- iPhone Game of the Year: Apex Legends Mobile (Electronic Arts)
- A strategy battle royale shooter game set in the Apex Legends universe.
- It features Legendary character-based gameplay, best-in-class squad battles, and fast-paced combat.
- iPad Game of the Year: Moncage (X.D. Network Inc.)
- This puzzle adventure game takes place inside a mysterious cube.
- Each side of the cube houses a unique world.
- They may seem random and unrelated but upon closer look, there are subtle and intricate ways of how these worlds connect.
- Mac Game of the Year: Inscryption (Devolver)
- An inky black card-based odyssey that blends the deckbuilding roguelike, escape-room style puzzles, and psychological horror into a blood-laced smoothie.
- Apple TV Game of the Year: El Hijo (HandyGames)
- A non-violent stealth game where players need to rely on the mischievous, playfulness of a young child.
- Using the shadows to their advantage is the game's core element.
- Apple Arcade Game of the Year: Wylde Flowers (Studio Drydock Pty Ltd.)
- A cozy life and farming sim with a witchy twist.
- Escape to a cute world of diverse folks and magical spells as you and the coven unravel a mystery.
- China Game of the Year: League of Legends Esports Manager (Shenzhen Tencent Tianyou Technology Ltd.)
