The newest duelist to arrive in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is Arkana, the self-proclaimed master of the Dark Magician and while he now appears in Duel World duelists can win some of his most powerful cards.
Players of Duel Links can duel Arkana as he appears in the Duel World but unlike Yami Bakura and Pegasus, Arkana can’t be unlocked but you can still win some of his signature cards like the alternate art red Dark Magician among others.
This is similar to the events where duelists could duel Mokuba and the Super Joey events where the event is tailored for duelists to win cards they can’t find anywhere else. The Arkana event in Duel Links will continue until July 25 so be sure to get these special cards before it’s too late (but Arkana will likely return in the future).
So how do you defeat Arkana in Duel Links? Here are the decklists for Arkana at both Level 30 and 40 and some strategies that Arkana employs during your duel so you can see it coming and plan for it.

LEVEL 30
At Level 30, Arkana has built his Ectoplasmic Cannon Deck that not only specializes in summoning Dark Magician but using the spell card Ectoplasmer to deal effect damage to you. Arkana also uses Double Coston to get the two tributes needed to summon Dark Magician but Legion the Fiend Jester is the best card for Arkana to get Dark Magician to his hand.
Using Malice Doll of Demise in combination with Ectoplasmer to have a monster to sacrifice each turn is a common strategy here so it’ll be worth it to take a De-Spell or Twister to get rid of Ectoplasmer. Duelists should also bring high attack monsters to clear his field before Arkana can tribute them.

LEVEL 40
Arkana’s deck at Level 40 is optimized to summon the Dark Magician and fill his field with monsters to get the tributes needed to summon this strong monster.
The most deadly combination Arkana has is summoning Double Coston and then using Double Summon to tribute it to summon Dark Magician. Arkana has Legion the Fiend Jester and Mystic Tomato to fill his hand and field with monsters.
The easiest way to combat this is to clear the field of monsters before Arkana has enough monsters to tribute but you’ll see it’s pretty difficult. However, don’t forget to bring traps and spells that will lower Dark Magician’s attack points so you can overpower it.
