Assassin's Creed Valhalla is out now on both current and next-gen platforms, and fans are busy creating their own Viking saga. However, PC players have noticed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla doesn't feature achievements. Upon noticing that Ubisoft has removed achievements from the game, players took to the Ubisoft forums and Reddit to inquire whether the removal was intentional or just an accident.
An Ubisoft representative answered the questions by stating that Assassin's Creed Valhalla on PC will not have traditional achievements, and instead the game will feature challenges via Ubisoft Connect. Naturally, fans weren't happy with Ubisoft's decision and demanded for achievements to return to the game. Now, Ubisoft has confirmed that achievements for Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be coming to the PC platform as well.
Recently, Ubisoft's UPlay app was rebranded to Ubisoft Connect, and it wasn't just a name change. While for the most part the rebranded app looks and works similar to the older UPlay app, it has apparently messed with online services. It was around this time when Ubisoft also launched Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and players noticed that the game had no achievements on PC.
When players inquired about the matter on the Ubisoft forums, a Ubisoft representative was very vague about Assassin's Creed Valhalla's achievements feature. Now, Ubisoft has stated clearly that it is working on bringing the achievements feature to Assassin's Creed Valhalla for PC players, and fans can expect to learn more soon.
Although Ubisoft has cleared up the main confusion, it still hasn't said what Challenges were supposed to be and why achievements were removed from the game initially. It isn't even clear whether when achievements roll out, players will have to play the game over again to earn the initial achievements or not.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
