The BLAST Premier matches between Astralis and Berlin International Gaming have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Vertigo was the first map of the series. Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen from Astralis had an amazing first round as he started with a quad kill, and all of those were headshots. However, Astralis experienced difficulty in making plays and winning gunfights in later rounds. Usually, only one player was doing some risky moves to win. BIG, meanwhile, played extremely well in terms of gunfights that allowed them to take multiple rounds.
BIG won the first map before it could go into overtime. If Astralis had taken the map to overtime, BIG could have lost the match because of their relatively lower experience. But in the end, BIG took Vertigo with a 16-14 scoreline.
The second map they played on was Astralis’ pick, Inferno. The first round was really confusing since Astralis rushed into B site and got the plant down. Next, BIG got the round down to a 2v4 situation in their favor. BIG tried to defuse the bomb within the smoke to win the round, but Astralis' Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth knew what was happening and wall-banged the enemy who was defusing the plant. Xyp9X and dupreeh clutched the 2v4 situation by getting two kills each.
Astralis took a 7-2 lead and after that BIG started to come back slowly. Then, BIG succeeded to make it 8-7 in the first half, which was surprising. BIG's comeback hit Astralis really hard and they took the final map with a 16-8 scoreline. For Astralis, dupreeh was the only player who got a positive K/D.
