Players can now apply freeze or stun to bosses at any time. However, subsequent applications gradually increase the boss' status effect resistance, thus weakening the effects.
Players can also build a new building called the "Gate" that keeps outside elements from coming into their settlements, so long as there's at least one guard manning it.
The original ways of improving the happiness and health values of the citizens no longer apply to future versions of the game. Instead, several new sections have been added to help players know more about how to improve these bonuses.
Players are now required to use special "nuggets" for upgrading their equipment. Armors can be upgraded using Fashion Nuggets while weapons can be improved using Tough Nuggets.
This update brought some changes to certain mechanics. For instance, allies affected by domination spells can now break free when targeted by Dispel Magic or Break Enchantment.

The issue where acquiring the Venari Prime didn't give Mastery Rank points has also been fixed. Players who experienced this bug will be awarded the appropriate amount of Mastery Rank points upon logging in after the update.
Ekko's effectiveness in clearing Jungle camps has been reduced. On the other hand, Pyke has improved quite a bit, making him more potent in the support role.
The new Barnacles & Black Powder expedition will be unlocked next week. In the meantime, players can now use a new feature that will help them find a group for expeditions easily.
In addition, certain perks and weapon abilities for the Hatchet received some changes. For instance, the Accumulated Power perk now only grants a 20% damage buff, though it also triggers off throws to compensate.
