Black Myth: Wukong took the gaming community by storm when it was revealed via a gameplay trailer in August. Given how the internet has reacted to the exceptional trailer, it seems that Wukong could be one of the most anticipated games that fans are waiting for. Developed by Game Science, a Chinese developer, Black Myth: Wukong looks and feels similar to Dark Souls and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which launched last year. However, it seems that Wukong has a lot going for it both in terms of combat and future plans.
Moreover, IGN recently interviewed the Chinese developer, revealing additional information about the game. In the interview, the developer talked about the enemy types, game length, and the future of Black Myth: Wukong as a series.
According to Game Science, Black Myth: Wukong will be launching in no less than three years and it should offer a decent 15 hours of gameplay. The game is said to be split into levels and the region showcased in the gameplay trailer is called Black Mountain. The developer also stated that replayability will be an important aspect of the game and players can approach each level differently based on their playstyle. When asked about enemy types in the game, Game Science said that there will be over 100 different enemy types in Wukong, including bosses.
When talking about the storyline, Game Science told IGN that Black Myth: Wukong will present "a gritty take on Journey to the West, featuring a more complex, dark version of the tale of Sun Wukong the Monkey King escorting a monk with a sacred scroll." The developer was also very clear about the game's future, stating that Wukong is the first game in a planned trilogy.
