It looks like the Bomb Shooter is now overpowered thanks to Bloons TD Battles 2’s latest patch. Update 1.1.1 brings plenty of balancing changes and bug fixes as well.
The Bomb Shooter is one of the primary towers in Bloons TD Battles 2. That said, Update 1.1.1 improves the Bomb Shooter’s xx2 Frag Bombs that they are crosspath upgrades now, giving all bombs the ability to pop Black Bloons. This is a pretty huge change considering that Black Bloons are immune to explosions. Being able to pop them using a primary tower makes your life easier. Furthermore, the Bomb Shooter’s 5xx Bloon Crush upgrade now deals 30 damage. With these changes, it is very likely that the Bomb Shooters are the meta this time around.
It seems that most people agree that Bomb Shooters are pretty darn good right now. Redditor @shadowlordmaxwell said that the xx2 bomb buff is dangerous, though they are willing to see how things go. Another user agrees as well.

- x2x Perishing Potions: main potion impact damage increased to 2
- xx1 Faster Throwing: Price reduced to $550
- xx1 Faster Throwing: attack speed increased to 40%
- Fixed sync issues causing hero upgrades to not cost any money

- Fixed some bloon types preventing x5x Druids from damaging other bloons
