If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare taking 250B of your disk space wasn't enough, Activision has now confirmed that the same will be the case with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The publisher confirmed via a recent blog post that Black Ops Cold War requires 250GB of storage for Ultra RTX and 4K resolution.
While the 250GB of storage is for enthusiast PC gamers out there, everyone below that will still need 175GB of storage space. It's interesting to see that Black Ops Cold War is demanding 175GB at launch, and with post-launch content the size should shoot up quite a lot, perhaps even more than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's file size.
Nevertheless, there's good news for players who are only interested in the multiplayer aspect of Cold War. Unlike the previous Call of Duty games, Black Ops Cold War doesn't demand that you install the full game along with the campaign. Fortunately, the multiplayer requires only 50GB of storage.
Although storage space has been a big concern among CoD players, fans have also been wondering what GPU Activision recommends for Cold War. In the PC specs shared today, Activision stated that to play Black Ops Cold War with ray tracing features, players will need an Nvidia RTX 3070, and those who wish to enjoy the game at 4K resolution plus ray tracing features will require an Nvidia RTX 3080.
Even though Activision has stated that players can install Black Ops Cold War multiplayer separately, we aren't sure whether this is true for console players as well. Recently, Activation also released a 20GB update for Modern Warfare on PC which allowed players to remove the modes that they no longer wished to play. And since many CoD players only wish to experience the multiplayer modes, Modern Warfare falls down to just 42GB in comparison to 220GB with all modes installed.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War releases on November 13 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
